Abstract

This article deals with diversified literary works of outstanding Russian commander, Chief Commander of the Caucasus - Prince Pavel Dmitrievich Tsitsianov. His epistolary, publicistic and poetry patterns are featured with the democratization of the language of late XVIII - early XIX centuries, and overcoming the strict genre frameworks of classicism, using conversational elements, aphoristic and paremie units. Characteristics of "fervent", given to Tsitsianov by Pushkin in his poem "Prisoner of the Caucasus", refers not only to the psychological character traits. His fervor was also manifested in his correspondence with childhood friend Zinoviev and poetic communiques, which he was addressing to his subordinates, in decrees to the Caucasian people and his satirical poetry. Tsitsianov's heritage is not large, but bright and interesting, reflecting the proximity of the poetics of classicism with a new direction - sentimentality, and giving us insight into the nature of the military phraseology syllable of the Russian language in pre-Pushkin period.
