Peculiarities of psychological space in people with musculoskeletal system disorders

The article deals with the peculiarities of personality psychological space and its aspects, internal and external factors influencing its development in people with musculoskeletal system disorders. The differences in development and perception of psychological space and its limits in cases of innate musculoskeletal disorders (cerebral palsy) and disorders, acquired as a result of spinal cord traumas. The tasks and potential of psychological rehabilitation are discussed considering the revealed differences. Recommendations for counseling people with musculoskeletal system disorders and their family members are given. The article is based on observational and clinical work with the patients of the rehabilitation center for people with severe limitations of mobility and self-care resulting from spinal cord damages or cerebral palsy.
