On the Issue of Peculiarities of Female Delinquency

Abstract

The article provides the analysis of qualitative and quantitative peculiarities of female delinquency. It reviews socio-psychological determinants of women’s criminal activity. It regards different types of crimes performed by women. The emphasis is made on prevention of violent crimes among the women as an important factor in general criminality containment. Crimes performed by women differ from crimes performed by men is their quantitate parameters, character of crimes and their consequences, means and tools, women’s roles in the crimes, choice of victims, influence of family, domestic and the other concomitant factors. The article concludes that alongside with the necessity for prevention of female violent crimes there is a demand for development of special programs targeted at neutralization of female criminal activity taking gender into the account.
