A Problem of the Higher Intellectual Processes in the System of Psychotechnical Research

As far as is known this L.S. Vygotsky's article was not republished since its first publication in 1930. It is of great value for the researchers of an outstanding psychologist's works. Contrary to often advanced opinion about Vygotsky as a pure theorist, this sort of information demonstrated that he supervised many empirical researches, carrying out the most creative functions and, first of all, the functions of theoretical comprehension, coordination and integration of their results in the united conceptual scheme. It is obvious, that Vygotsky participated in process of design of these researches. If Vygotsky doesn't identify himself as one of the authors of the mentioned researches, this fact definitely testifies to his modesty and delicacy. Moreover this publication can confirm a recent deduction by B.M. Munipov («Cultural-Historical Psychology», 2006, №4) about the Vygotsky's basic role in the development of home psycho technique. This role naturally combined with the main work of the Vygotsky's group on the development of the cultural-historical theory. This fact is easily shown in this article. Undeniably a thesis on «labor helped give birth to all higher intellectual functions, to all higher behavioral forms specific to person» will come to the attention of researches who discuss the Vygotsky's attitude to the activity theory. Finally, the presented text, which contains the expanded theses in English, could help in translations of the Vigotsky's works from Russian into English.
