System approach to understanding structure of Self-concept and patterns of its development in child age

Arkhireeva T.V., Ph.D. in Psychology, Associate professor at the Psychology chair, Yaroslav Mudry Novgorod State University, Veliky Novgorod, Russia, ArxireevaT@yandex.ru
Abstract
The article presents theoretical model of Self-concept elaborated on the basis of system approach. Displaying connections between components of the structure is the distinguishing feature of this model. Based on analysis of studies on particularities of children self-consciousness in different ages, an attempt was made to reveal patterns of Selfconcept development in ontogenesis and to compare them with the levels of mature Self-concept. The article also presents an idea that new formations of each age period in the structure of Self-concept are determined not by a single factor, but by a system of factors, that compose social situation of development specific for different ages.

Keywords: system approach, Self-concept, patterns of development, determinants of development
