Essay on History of Kharkov Psychological School: First Scientific Session of the Kharkov State Pedagogical Institute and the Emergence of «the Kharkov Psychological School» (1938) 937

Abstract
The present article precedes the publication of archival materials: the talks of P. Ya. Galperin and P. I. Zinchenko at the scientific session of the Kharkov State Pedagogical Institute in 1938 and sets the historical context of this scientific forum and speeches of Kharkov psychologists. The author discusses the linguistic features of the scientific discourse in the Soviet Union in the 1930s and introduces the concept of «scientific doublespeak». This concept results from the scientific text's author orientation on the «dual-recipient». On the one hand it is the state censorship authorities and on the other — the real scientific audience. The hypothesis of an anonymous collective coauthorship («quasi-pseudonymity», B. Meshcheryakov) of a number of scientific texts traditionally attributed to only one of the real authors is introduced. Finally, the article discusses the time of creation of the scientific construct of «Kharkov Psychological School» and Elkonin's hypothetical authorship of the term.
