Psychotechnological System of Teaching Person-Centered Approach to Students

1661

Abstract

The paper analyzes the system of teaching person-centered approach in the master's degree program "Counselling Psychology. Personology" at the National Research University Higher School of Economics from the perspective of psychotechnological approach as a modern developmental stage of cultural-historical psychology. For these purposes the paper employs the concept of 'psychotechnological system' and its key ele¬ments: aim, conceptual scheme of knowledge, practice, experts, organized continuing system of interactions/relationships between experts and students. The paper describes a study on the effectiveness of the analyzed psychotechnological educational system which proved its effectiveness not only in an instructional aspect, but also in the way it contributes to the constructive changes in personality, thus helping students get closer to the ideal of a fully functioning person described by Carl Rodgers. It is argued that analyzing any educational programs as psychotechnological system is highly appropriate for their construction, improvement and analysis of its effectiveness.
