The Role of Perception in Graphic Activity

1458

Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of conditions providing the efficiency of graphic activity (GA). Graphic activity is understood as the activity directed on reproduction of subjects and geometrical objects. The following hypotheses were empirically checked: 1) The success of GA is defined by the development of visual perception components revealed by Frostig. GA difficulties arise even if one of the components of the complex is broken. 2) Special formation of visual perception components influences the GA efficiency. 3) The unformed components of visual perception results in reduction of motivation to GA. Therewere used the following methods: the test of visual perception by M. Frostig and its’ adapted version: the method of the estimation of developmental level of visual perception among 5 –7,5 year old children by M. Bezrukih, L. Morozova; Vexsler’s subtest «Graphic pictures». There were 129 children, who took part in the research in the age of 4,0 – 7,0 years, attended Moscow infant school.
