Experiencing the «feeling of adulthood» in adolescents

Abstract
The feeling of adulthood is one of the central new psychological formations of personality in adolescence. It can be revealed mostly in its outer forms. The classical definition of the feeling of adulthood says it is the adolescent's desire to rollmodel adults. The authors who studied the phenomenology of the «feeling of adulthood» (D.B. El'konin, T.V. Dragunova), emphasized its inner ambiguity. The article sets the following tasks: 1) to study the genesis of the feeling of adulthood, that is, to analyze developmental contradictions and specifics of social situation of development that cause the emergence of the feeling of adulthood; 2) to reveal the correlation between the feeling of adulthood and other new psychological formations of adolescence; 3) to reveal the content of experiencing the feeling of adulthood in adolescents; 4) to define the orienting points in psychologist's work in solving internal and external conflicts of adolescence.
