Effect of Body-Oriented Techniques on Psychomotor Development in 4–5-Year-Old Children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder

Abstract

This article is based on a graduation research and focuses on psychomotor development in children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and on the use of body-oriented therapy in psychological treatment of these children. The article reveals behavioural and psychological characteristics and main problems in children with ADHD; it also describes a series of techniques for exploring their psychomotor development. Results obtained in the research prove that using body-oriented therapy has a positive effect on certain psychomotor components in children with ADHD and helps to promote their development eliminating the gap between these children and their age peers.
