Abstract

The paper discusses gender-related aspects of the image of pupil in teachers. In order to study the dynamics of gender-related representations in female and male teachers, the author carried out a long-term research in 2005–2006 using a special questionnaire. The sample included students of Rostov Institute for Advanced Training (teachers with 0 to 25 years of professional experience) and students of Rostov State Pedagogical University (altogether, 730 subjects: 528 females and 202 males). Basing on the results obtained in the research, the author states that the correlation between the teacher's gender, subject area and his/her perception of pupil is ambiguous.
