Psychologists' Professional Competence in Interethnic Relations and Its Development in Psychology Students

Abstract

The author reviews different approaches to defining the concept of 'professional competence' and gives his own definition, distinguishing between two levels of psychologist's professional competence in interethnic relations: 'ethnopsychological' and 'ethnopractical'. The article describes programmes designed to develop both types of competence in psychology students and reports findings of a research on experimental implementation of these programmes.
