Identification as a means of understanding the unique inner world of the other in psychologist’s practice

Abstract
The article focuses on the unique capabilities of identification as a means of understanding the subjectivity of another person. Living out in identification is defined as a process that combines the knowledge of informational and emotional existence of psychic, what is estimated as a valuable humanistic way of understanding the inner world of another person. We propose to consider the development line of identification ability up to excellence in helping professions, particularly in the work of a psychologist. Presented analysis of scientific papers on the topic enables the author to prove theoretically the use of conscious identification in psychological practice. We conclude that psychologist’s ability to identify can and should be developed, and conscious, balanced, controlled use of emotional, cognitive and behavioral channels in reconstruction of the life cycle of another person should be mastered.
