Psychological and Pedagogical Potential of Ethnic Culture as a Resource for Forming Spiritual and Moral Upbringing of the Younger Generations 1046

The spiritual and moral potential of the popular culture as a resource for the formation of moral culture of the younger generations is not fully used in the modern educational practice. Appeal to ethnic culture as means of moral education is fragmented and unsystematic, which not only reduces the effectiveness of the educational process, but also blocks the dialogue between the students - members of different ethnic groups. Not much attention is dedicated to the use of arts and crafts in the process of spiritual and moral education of teenagers within the multi-ethnic environment in the regions of our country. This article describes the educational capabilities of the arts and crafts of the people of the North (which were considered and used by the author in developing a course “Many Faces of Yamal”) and the influence of folk art in the process of identity formation.
