Psychological correction of child fears

Abstract
The contribution presents an analysis of the main methods of psychological correction of child fears. It analyzes the following methods of working with child fears: art therapy (drawing, play therapy, fairytale therapy, doll therapy, etc.); methods of behavioral psychotherapy (operant methods, confrontation method, cognitive restructuring, self-confidence training, ways of self-control, systematic desensibilization, etc.), as well as method of correction of fears by mans of harmonization of child-parent relationship. The contribution contains an analysis of modern correctional-developmental programs which aim at overcoming child fears. It makes a conclusion that the methods used in the programs are not specific and there is a need to develop and approbate a correctional-developmental program for working with child fears that will include child’s types of activity which facilitate amplification and intensification of development, full-scale passing of the age period, which, in turn, will facilitate overcoming of fears through enhancement of child’s emotional resources.
