Kryzhanovskaya I.V., Associate Professor, Chair of Pedagogy and Psychology, Moscow State Forest University, Moscow, Russia
The problem of identification of factors of professional self-determination, in particular in the field of ecological education, is very relevant today. The aim of the research was to identify and describe the professional types of students in the field of ecology and natural resources. The general hypothesis of the research was the following: characterological peculiarities have a stronger influence on the choice of profession type in the sphere of ecology and natural resources than inclinations and interests. The research of the influence of characterological peculiarities on the professional choice was carried out at the Moscow State University of Forest. Students of various departments took part in the research: humanities, forest, economics and external relations, mechanical and chemical wood technology, and landscape architecture. In total 488 students participated. The analysis of empirical research of the influence of personal characteristics on the professional choice points to a connection between interests and professional inclinations and accentuated character traits, their combination may be considered a professional type of personality, which corresponds to profession types identified on the basis of differences in the labor object. The results of the research allowed to identify five professional types (bionomical, technonomical, socionomical, signonomical and artonomical) of students in the field of ecology and natural resources, represented by a combination of specific character traits and interests.
