The role of urban environment perception in adolescents’ adjustment

Abstract
The article deals with investigation of the role of urban environment in adolescents’ adjustment. It analyses the link between adolescents’ adjustment abilities and the quality of their perception of urban environment. It is shown that the most attractive urban objects for adolescents are places with high intensity of social contacts, dynamically changing but providing the sense of security that directly affects an adolescent’s emotional comfort. Characteristics of perception of urban environment objects in adolescents are linked with the level of their social adjustment and emotional comfort.
