Peculiarities of «I»-Conception and Effectiveness of Socio-psychological Adjustment in Military Veterans 974

Abstract
The article provides results of a unit of longitude empirical research of psychological determinants of effectiveness of post-stress adjustment in military actions participants carried out in the Institute of Psychology of the Russian Academy of Science in 1992— 2006. The main results described in the article were obtained at the second stage of the longitude research (1999—2000). The article provides the results of investigation of interrelations between the character of socio-psychological adaptation, peculiarities of life-meaning orientations and different aspects of “I”-conception in veterans of military actions. The role of personal characteristics in the hierarchy of social and psychological factors determining effectiveness of overcoming negative consequences of military stress is shown. Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-III-R and Clinical-Administered PTSD Scale was used for PTSD detection, and also set of psychological tests — for diagnostics of individually-personal features of examinees. The sample included 45 Afghanistan war (1979—89) veterans, average age 35 years.
