Vachkov I.V., Doctor of Psychology, Professor, Social Pedagogy and Psychology Department, Moscow State Pedagogical University, Moscow, Russia, igorvachkov@mail.ru
Abstract
The article attempts to generalize defining social and psychological features of fairy tale therapy, to reveal preconditions of its development and evaluate its role and functions in a psychologist's activity. The author argues that fairy tale therapy is a method in applied psychology that is aimed at support of development of a person's subjectivity and agency that ensures his / her efficient interactions with the social world. The article describes that position as the basis for integrative fairy tale therapy — the author's approach.

Keywords: fairytale, metaphor, fairy tale therapy, semantic space, subjectivity.
