Temperamental Predictors of Categoriality of Perception of Facial Expressions 1073

Zhegallo A.V.
PhD in Psychology, Senior Researcher, Institute of Experimental Psychology, Moscow State University of Psychology and Education, Moscow, Russia

We study the differentiation of expression of the faces of subjects with different levels of extraversion and neuroticism. The effectiveness of differentiation was set by the result of the implementation of discriminatory ABX-problem. Stimulus material was a pair of images combined expression of a person belonging to the transitional series “joy-fear”, “fear-anger”, “anger-joy”. Indicators of extraversion and neuroticism were determined using a questionnaire EPI. It is shown that the effect of categoriality of perception of expression differently pronounced for groups of subjects with different levels of extraversion and neuroticism.

Keywords: expression of a person, categorial perception, discrimination task, facial image morphing, EPI, extraversion, neuroticism, predictors of categoriality of perception
