Abstract
This review of the book by V.V. Davydov "Lectures on General Psychology", issued by "Academia" publishing centre in 2005, is presented in the form of a reader's reflection not only on the contents itself, but also on the problems of psychology that had been pointed out by V.V. Davydov. The book concerns a variety of problems related to the understanding of mind. Such topics, as creativity imagination, personality, freedom, and morals are also covered. The author reviews the problem of the subject of activity as a central problem of learning activity. The book gives a brief analysis of the fundamental problem of developmental learning design: the author speaks about cultural instruments of organization of collaborative action which becomes the moment of revelation and internalization of studied subject matter in a pupil's perception. Another part of the book is devoted to recollections of V. V. Davydov's personality and his views on the society. The author encourages readers to reflect on what they have read.
