Cultural-Historical Psychology P.I. Zinchenko's Heritage and Cognitive Psychology with a Human Face 1081Falikman M.V. Abstract
The article discusses the counter-development of cognitive and activity approaches to memory. The similarities and differences between the activity approach, proposed in 1930 in the works of P.I. Zinchenko and developed by his students and followers and the theory of information processing levels as described in the works of F. Craik and R. Lockhart are listed. The central role of the problem of involuntary memorization in both approaches is emphasized as well as the procedural nature of human memory. The features of different options of levels approach to cognition and possibilities of its integration with the approach based on theoretical notions of P.I. Zinchenko are analyzed.
