The Reasons for Aggression Manifestations in Childhood

Abstract

The article is devoted to analysis of possible reasons of the child aggression manifestations. The influence of family, individual and school factors are considered. The conditions of family upbringing that promote and sustain the aggressive manifestations are discussed. Results suggest that significant factors are parental indulgent attitude to their children's expressions of aggressiveness and severity of punishment. The relationship between viewing violent, cruel and erotic scenes on television and aggressive behavior of children is described. The characteristics of the child's personality that determine the probability of becoming either an aggressor or a victim are discussed. Close attention is paid to the influence of schools on the development of children's aggressiveness. We stress the importance of studying of this issue and the application of knowledge to prediction and timely correction of aggressive behavior in the early stages of ontogeny.
