Khusid A.D.
Ph.D student in social psychology at the Psychological institute of the Russian Academy of Education, Moscow, Russia

The aim of the provided research was comparative description of peculiarities of representations of cartoon series in different auditoria. The questionnaire was developed and the investigation was carried out at the sample of 155 respondents. The sample included two age groups: older adolescents and youths. The results displayed that cartoon series are a significant part of daily life for both respondents groups and thus knowledge about them is intersubjective. The group of adolescents does not re-interpret the plot of cartoon series but just perceives the picture. For adolescents cartoon series are a marker of group affiliation rather than food for thought. The youths audience marks out in the contents of cartoon series a range of ideas such as family, society, policy, religion, education, stereotypes, culture.

Keywords: cartoon series, social cognition, age limits, adolescents, youths.
