The paper presents an analytical review of international studies on the phe-nomenon of intergenerational (transgenerational) transmission of mental trau-matization. The actuality, social relevance and the interdisciplinary study of the phenomenon in modern psychology and psychiatry are discussed. The arti-cle is structured in accordance with the basic aspects of the study of intergen-erational transmission of trauma, dedicated to the analysis of literature.
