Psychology and Law Peculiarities of gender consciousness of underage convicts 968Brigida K.B. Abstract
The contribution examines the peculiarities of gender consciousness and their interrelation with personal factors in minors serving sentence in juvenile correctional facility. 40 convicts who have committed violent and lucrative crimes and 20 pupils of Moscow general education schools participated in the research. The hypotheses of the present research were the theses that young males who have committed violent and lucrative delicts, have peculiarities of gender-role identity and gender-role stereotypes, interrelation between aggressiveness and perceptions of masculinity stereotype. The research identified the peculiarities of the structure of gender-role identity and gender-role stereotypes as well as their interrelation with personal qualities of minors with criminal behavior. It is shown that in case of young males with normative behavior the gender identity and personal characteristics are formed jointly and are a single interrelated system in contrast to minors with criminal behavior.
