Clinical Psychology and Special Education Individual and Social Competence, Personality Factors and Cognitive Abilities of Preschoolers 1434Egorov A.V. Kazmin A.M. Abstract
Authors studied the connections between individual and social competence, personality factors and cognitive abilities of preschool children with typical development, attending kindergarten (N = 54; age 73, 4 6 months, 31 boys and 23 girls). The following method have been used: "Preschool children's educational competence scale», M5-PS, computer cognitive tests. K-means clustering of cases and Mann-Whitney U Test were used. Revealed that children with a high level of individual social competence development were more open to experience minded (p <0,0001), agreeable (p <0,05), conscientious (p <0,01), with higher level of Extraversion (0,001) and also more successful with the cognitive tests for stimulus sequences understanding (p <0,05), logical multiplication usage (p <0,05), emotional expression and situations of social interaction recognition (p <0,05 and p < 0,01). The obtained results may indicate the possible involvement of both personality and cognitive factors in the formation of individual and social competences.
