General Requirements

  • The Journal publishes scientific, original manuscripts which have not been published before.
  • The manuscripts may be submitted in Russian or English.
  • Publication of a manuscript in the Journal is free.
  • The manuscript must correspond the present Rules and be scientifically precise. Its conclusions must be logically coherent.

Manuscript Submission

The editorial board accepts articles for publication via MSUPE online publishing system (OPS)  (See instructions for submitting a manuscript to the journal).

1. Manuscripts's formatting

  1. The text must use the 1,5 line spacing, Times New Roman font, size 14. The document must have the following margins: lef - 3 cm, right - 1,5 cm, top/bottom - 2 cm.
  2. The title must be placed in the middle of the page, in bold font, without a full stop at the end of the title. If the contribution is made with the financial aid of a fund, there must be a reference to the grant at the end of the title.
  3. The names of the authors are placed on the right, first the initials, then the last name.
  4. The abstract must reflect the main content of the contribution, and include the aim, tasks, object of research, hypothesis, results of research and conclusions. There must be no abbreviations in the abstract except the generally accepted and no literature references. The size of the abstract is 1000-1200 symbols including spaces.
  5. Keywords: 5-10 main scientific or psychological terms used in the text. Keywords must be sorted: from the more general, related to the problem, to the more differentiated. Long phrases, laboratory slang and neologisms can't be used as keywords.
  6. Manuscript's volume - the maximum size is 20 000 symbols including spaces.

References and Bibliography Formatting

For every source stated in bibliography there must be a reference in square brackets [2], if it is a quote - the number of the page must be stated [2,112]. In those contributions where references are made in the following manner: Filippova E.A. (1985), Petrova A.I. (2001), Ivanova V.V.(1999), they must me transferred to the bibliography and formatted as follows: [28], [1], [16].

Bibliography must be placed in the end of the text in alphabetical order under the heading Literature. Foreign sources are placed after the Russian ones. Last names and initials must be written in italic with one space. Bibliography must not include the names of the publishers and number of pages (see the example):

Tables, Pictures and other Illustrations

Tables, pictures, graphs, schemes must be submitted as separate graphic files. All illustrations must be signed and numbered.

Tables

The tables must be numbered with Arab numbers throughout the text.

Shortening of words in tables is not acceptable. The word “Table” and the corresponding number must be done in bold font, the name of the table must be done in normal font. Example: “Table 4. Indices of approximation of reduced psychometric models…” Example of reference to the table in the text: “In table 4 the results of approximation are shown…”

All keys used in tables must be numbered and signed. The headings of the tables must contain the name of the column.

Pictures

The picture must be understandable and clear, comments must be stated in accordance with the text. The minimal resolution for photographs is 800x600 px. The authors shall bear responsibility for the quality of pictures and photographs. .

In the picture’s name the word “Picture” and the corresponding table must be done in italic; the name of the picture must be done in normal font. If there is only one picture, its number must not be stated, other requirements are the same.

Example of naming: «Picture 1. Semantic space of role positions dynamics...». Example of reference to the picture in the text: «The most popular in relation to the second factor were (picture 1)...».

The name of the picture must be placed under the picture. All explications of illustrative materials (graphs, diagrams, etc.) must be placed to the right of the picture.

Requirements for the Manuscript's Content

The manuscript must prove new methodological or theoretical approaches; it must contain new facts, synthesis or criticism of existing points of view and previously published results; introduce new aims and hypothesis, new methodical tools. In order to ensure the austerity of the text, it is recommended to avoid phrases with multiple meanings and ambiguous phrases, use of unreasonably long phrases, metaphorical phrases, repetitions,  allegories, publicist and popular science style, trivial vocabulary, neologisms.  It is best not to use synonyms and homonyms of terms used as basic in the text of the contribution. All newly introduced terms and terms which have different meanings, as well as special and technical terms, must be explained when they are first used in text.

2. Portrait photograph of the author must be submitted in JPEG or TIFF format. The minimal resolution of the photograph is 300x400 px.

3. The manuscript must be thoroughly edited (checked) by the author in order to exclude the risk of accidental loss of its parts and misprints. Before submitting the text to the magazine please check the numbering of all non-text elements (tables, pictures), all references to formulas, pictures, bibliography. Quotes must be marked only as «».
