A research on situational factors' influence on emotional anticipation in solving cognitive tasks in preschool children

Abstract

The article discusses the results of a research on situational influences on a child's behaviour, on his/her orientation towards the certain factors in solving cognitive tasks. Basing on the literature analysis and on the research data, the author shows that the emotional impregnation of a situations leads to the emergence of its emotional image that includes the elements with which a child does not interact directly (the socalled "unfamiliar objects"). This holistic emotional image has an anticipative influence over a child's behaviour, and so have the separate elements of a situation included in the emotional image. The experiment was carried out on preschool children. As a result, the author revealed the agespecific dynamics of anticipative action of the emotional image of a situation in which a child solved cognitive tasks. This research broadens the notions of the correlation between emotions, motivation and preschool children behaviour, and of their dependence on situational factors.
