Psychological Science and Education Person’s Cultural-Psychological Competence: a Socio-Psychological Study of the Youth Media Culture 1114Zhizhina M.V. Abstract
This article analyzes the components and features of cultural-psychological competence development as an integral socio-psychological individual feature that ensures effective collaboration with a multicultural media-environment. In this regard cultural and psychological competence of the individual is viewed as a basis for the media competence development, as well as a condition and resource of effectiveness improvement of media-education. Media education is understood as ability to perceive and effectively respond to media messages, ability to build some form of media immune resistance, possibility of being an active participant of the media process. The role of cultural-psychological competence development in youth environment is emphasized, in regard to mastering the various practices of modern media culture. The analysis of socio-psychological features of youth addressing to the media culture was performed.
