A Part of Article
The fourth issue of the journal " Vestnik of St. Petersburg
State University. Psychology " is represented by articles describing empirical
and experimental research in the field of developmental psychology, medical and
correctional psychology.
The issue opens with an article by N. S. Pavlova and E. A. Sergienko
"Subjective quality of life, psychological well-being, attitude to the time
perspective and age of pensioners leading different lifestyles". The increase
in life expectancy, the active involvement of older people in various spheres
of life makes the question of their quality of life and psychological
well-being relevant. The analysis of the literature data and the authors ' own
research suggest that the subjective indicators of the quality of life decrease
with age, but the period is 64-75 years (people 58-93 years old participated in
the study) it is characterized by higher indicators of quality of life,
psychological well-being and the possession of a balanced time perspective.
Among the factors most closely related to self-assessment of health, both
physical and psychological, was psychological well-being. It is revealed that
the time perspective of a person is more associated with the psychological
component of health, while the subjective age is more associated with the
physical one. At the same time, there is a specificity in the number and nature
of connections, depending on age and lifestyle (non-working pensioners who are
on home-based social services, and non-working pensioners who lead an active
lifestyle).
