Abstract

The paper describes the outcomes of a research on social representations of retirement within three population categories: students, working adults and retired persons. The research employed a technique based on free association experiment. The results obtained on were then compared to the similar data obtained in a study with French subjects. This comparison revealed significant differences in social representations not only in the two ethnic samples, but in the subsamples of Russian subjects as well.
