Как минимум в 39 американских штатах изданы законы, регулирующие деятельность школ по антикризисному планированию, существует ряд организаций, осуществляющих методическую и организационную поддержку школам по теме кризисного планирования и реагирования, а именно: Национальная ассоциация школьных психологов (National Association of School Psychologists, NASP), Национальный центр помощи при школьных кризисах и утратах при детском госпитале медицинского центра Цинциннати (the National Center for School Crisis and Bereavement at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center), Министерства образования и Национальной безопасности США (the U. S. Departments of Education and Homeland Security).
