The Essence of the Psychic and the Construction of Psychological Knowledge

This publication represent fragments of one of the concluding chapters of the manual for the course «Methodology of psychological research» that A. A. Leontiev was working on during the last years of his life. Other parts of this tutorial completed by the author were published previously. The text published here is included in the final chapter and discusses how psychological knowledge is represented in the theoretical system of activity approach in the version of A. A. Leontiev. The beginning of this chapter, antecedent to the published fragment, was published in the journal «World of Psychology», 2009, № 4. Chapter is not completed and stops in the middle of the second section. Publication was prepared by A. A. Leontieva and D. A. Leontiev.
