Abstract

Modern changes in the social sphere contribute to the active development of the Russian language, which expands its vocabulary due to borrowed words, semantic transformation, activation of linguistic units, phraseologization. The COVID-19 pandemic contributed to the replenishment and expansion of the lexical system, reflecting the public reaction to the current problem. Thanks to the Internet media, new linguistic units are widely distributed among the population.
