Abstract

In the area of moral speculation and experience guilt anxiety has serious ethical basis, which is the problem of man’s moral responsibility before God in its eschatological prospect. Guilt brings an irrational element of non-existence fear into man’s being. Guilt is experienced by personality as an event which is impossible and dreadful in its consequences. Collapse of hope caused by this event encloses disappointment in ontological guarantee of being, because existential barriers of personal being crush and fall, uncovering the threat of non-existence. Total anxiety arising from guilt anxiety becomes sorrow which carries a glint of death. Initiative in forgiveness of guilt and overcoming of estrangement belongs to personality’s moral freedom.
