Abstract

The contribution describes a model, developed by the authors, of medico-psycho-social help for children of elder preschool - junior school age with reversible forms of impaired mental development studying in the system of compensatory educational institutions. It introduces the notion of “borderline mental disorders of dysontogenetic field” which emphasizes potentially high possibilities of compensation and reduction of existing deviations in child’s development in the course of medico-psycho-social correction and rehabilitation. The proposed model implements the social-psychiatric trend in providing complex medico-psycho-social help to children with development and behavior problems. The contributions makes emphasis on two directions of medico-psycho-social support of children: on multi-axial diagnostics of differentiated forms of borderline mental disorders of dysontogenetic register in conformity with a classification proposed by the authors, and on polyprofessional correctional rehabilitational work depending on the type of borderline mental disorder, organised under module principle with interdisciplinary and interdepartmental interaction of specialists.
