Abstract

The article describes social-psychological representations of incest as a type of family sexual violence. Attention is drawn to the phenomenon of incest as a rather frequent form of child abuse. The characteristic of incestuous families is provided. The article argues for the need to consider the phenomenon of incest through the prism of the holistic social attitudes to it. The analysis of significant differences of responses in experimental and control groups is performed. The relationship between the level of empathy and attitudes to incest and rape is described. The features of views and opinions related to victims of incest or rape, depending on the gender of the respondent, are revealed. The significance of formation of social representations using a variety of social programs for prevention of sexual violence in the family and rehabilitation of victims is explained. The tasks for further research in this area are outlined
