Perception of Social Support in Individuals and Its Correlation with the Quality of the Core of Social Network

Abstract

The paper presents results of a research on how perception of social support in an individual affects the quality of the core of his/her social network. These results demonstrate that the character of the individual's perception of social support plays an important role in the development of the supportive potential of the core of the social network, affecting such features of interpersonal relationships as the intima- cy/distance correlation, duration of communication, and level at which supportive interactions are exchanged.
