The second issue of the journal Psychological Science and Education in 2024 (2-2024) has been published. The section “Developmental Psychology” presents research on the relationship between creative thinking and initiative in the preschool children from the different educational environments, as well as the role of the metacognitive skills in the literacy tests. The results of the Russian-language adaptation of the CSSI-8 and RCADS-30 surveys aimed at identifying somatic symptoms in orphans and children without parental care need special attention. The section also features the results of the study of disobedience among high school students in Nigeria, which showed a connection between domestic control, religiosity, and adolescent behavior.

The section “Educational Psychology” presents the results of research on teachers' motivation and readiness for mentoring. Teachers had similar characteristics of readiness for mentoring, and their level of motivation was related to the effectiveness of mentoring implementation. Another study found that the preschool teachers with a high level of psychological well-being were more likely to use the healthy problem-solving strategies, while teachers with a low level of well-being preferred to walk away from the problems. The section closes with a study of the impact of mindfulness on the academic performance of the foreign students in China.
