The first issue of 2026 of the journal «Psychological Science and Education» (No. 1, 2026) is dedicated to a wide range of relevant questions in developmental and educational psychology, focusing on psychological safety, well-being, and the effectiveness of modern educational practices.

The section «Developmental Psychology» opens with a study on preschoolers' communication, examining it as a potential risk factor for psychological safety within the kindergarten environment. A significant focus in this issue is dedicated to higher education: individual articles analyze the impact of chronic stress on students' well-being, the role of conscious self-regulation and optimism as resources, as well as questions related to personal readiness for employment among students with disabilities. The section also addresses topics such as the development of social creativity among youth, gender differences in the relationship between time perspective and professional self-determination, and the development of creative thinking in schoolchildren within the context of ethnomatematics. The block concludes with methodologically diverse works: a systematic review on the role of working memory in solving scientific problems and a search-based study employing a classification tree method to analyze the relationship between psychological well-being, internet use, and attitudes toward seeking help.

In the section « Educational Psychology», key topics include psychological well-being and academic success. The issue presents results from a large-scale nationwide study on the personal identity of contemporary adolescents, as well as an analysis of latent profiles revealing the relationship between well-being and academic performance among students in grades 5–11. Other articles are dedicated to motivational and volitional predictors of students' academic achievements, the development of models of pedagogical skills within the context of teachers’ emotional intelligence, and a systematic review of strategies for maintaining teachers' social and emotional competence.

The section «Discussions and Discourses» initiates a professional debate by proposing a universal algorithm for designing educational programs, based on the analysis of students’ requests.
