Online and Offline Communication Skills as a Relevant Object of Research in the Academic Environment

Abstract

The article deals with online and offline communication skills, their distinctive features and their perception by higher education students at different levels of education. The authors made a comparative analysis of modern foreign research on the topic of online and offline communication skills conducted in the academic environment. The article shows the specificity of online and offline communication skills based on the scientific research of foreign authors. The article substantiates the importance of online and offline communication skills formation at the level of higher education for students of any specialization. The authors emphasize the necessity of online and offline communication skills in connection with blended learning, where face-to-face (online) and offline formats are present. Research findings are analyzed and conclusions and inferences related to the findings are voiced. The relevance of the topic is considered by the authors in the context of modern realities of society development, such as digitalization, globalization, in view of which the article will be useful for students of both humanitarian and technical directions, as well as for young specialists regardless of the sphere of employment. The article is of scientific interest for specialists engaged in education, psychology, pedagogical psychology.
