Abstract

Context and Relevance. This article examines the theoretical and practical aspects of providing emergency and crisis psychological assistance within a higher education institution. It analyzes the relevance of establishing psychological services in universities and provides an overview of domestic and international approaches to crisis counseling. Objective. To present quantitative and qualitative characteristics of student appeals to the university's psychological service, describe the specifics of their requests, and the age and gender composition of the help recipients. Methods and Materials. Qualitative and quantitative analysis of the activities of the Psychological Service of Moscow Pedagogical State University (MPSU) for the calendar years 2020-2025. Particular attention is paid to the effectiveness of short-term therapy methods used by the service's specialists. Results: The article discusses the outcomes of the service's activities, identifying key problem areas for students. Conclusions: The necessity of developing a system of psychological support for students at the higher education level is substantiated.
