The Study on the Visual and Symbolic Thinking in Educators
Abstract
The article presents research on visual and symbolic language as a result of visual and symbolic thinking and which is characterized in terms of the content of the personal-semantic space and its ability to freestanding generation of images. The influence of the visual and symbolic language on the moral development of personality is analyzed. The symbol and similar, but not identical art structures, such as metaphor, allegory and artistic image are considered as tools of the visual and symbolic language. The empirical results on developmental levels of visual and symbolic thinking evaluation are presented, that are assessed by the range, depth and originality of the visual and symbolic language and by ability of representing the world in an emotive-figurative form in teachers of secondary schools in different regions of Russia.
