Dysphemisms in English Literature of the XX Century. Modernist Tendency

Abstract

The following work is devoted to the study of dysphemisms in the modernist English literature of the XX century. The article examines some particular features of these means of language expression based on a specific literary material. The research is based on a selection of examples from sources, their contextual analysis, and the identification of dysphemisms. The provided information allows avoiding awkward situations during intercultural communication with native English speakers, translations and language learning, as well as familiarization with English literature to a certain extent.
