Frame Organisation of Knowledge in Teaching English Language

1789

Abstract

The paper focuses on the problem of using frame theory in teaching English. The aim the presented research was to reveal the role of frames in teaching foreign language and to describe their characteristics. The importance of this research is determined by the age of information technology, in particular, by the necessity to 'compress' study material in order to facilitate the interpretation of information by learners. The author proposes a classification of frames and gives examples of how these frames can be used in teaching English grammar. The materials presented in this paper are aimed at university teachers working on theoretical and practical issues concerning the use of grammar forms in English.
