Abstract

The article examines subjectivity as a system-forming characteristic of soul from a perspective of humanitarian paradigm. In addition integration of Christian anthropology and scientific psychological approaches to understanding of psychic phenomenas takes place, as well as rationalization of soul as an object of a scientific psychological research. Based on the idea of Christian metaphysics about the world’s creaturehood predetermined entity substantial foundations of man (spiritual and natural) are characterized and scientific psychological definition of soul as human integrity, originating as a result of reflection of the spiritual in the corporal, is given. Areflexive, reflexive and transcendently reflexive manifestations of the psychic are characterized. Notions of “individual” and “individuality” are analyzed as determined by soul constitution: the first has a naturally determined basis and the second - spiritually determined. Man’s subjectivity as a form of inter-related self-being of personality and social individual is discussed. The following notions are defined: “personality” as a spiritual and social phenomenon, as a product of onto-genetical development of individuality; and “social individual” as a social and biological phenomenon, as a product of onto-genetical development of individual. Intellect is characterized as an integral psychological quality, in which main spiritual attributes are projected: mind, creativity, freedom, will, power. Sensuous side of human subjectivity is described through emotions and senses.
