Abstract

Efficiency of activity of special units of law enforcement agencies (among which are the special forces departments of Russian correctional system) depends to a large extent on socio-psychological climate in such units. The contribution, which uses the “Questionnaire for studying socio-psychological climate in special units of correctional system”, formulates recommendations on optimization of socio-psychological climate in these units. Use of socio-psychological methods of organizing the personnel activity must be based, firstly, on use of internal and external resources in terms of expected results of work. Secondly, they must be based on humanistic values (respect of and confidence in personality, openness and cooperation) and differentiated approach to specific employees (taking into account professional and individual psychological qualities, living conditions) which by themselves facilitate the development of solidarity and increase of level of motivation for professional activity.
