Age Dynamics of Ideas about the Professional Career of Employees of the Internal Affairs Bodies
Abstract
The article presents the results of a survey obtained on a sample of 70 employees of the Department of Internal Affairs of different age categories. The author notes that the perceptions of a professional career among police officers undergo significant changes with age: up to 25 years, the concept of "service career" is correlated with such positions as career growth, a sense of confidence and stability, self-improvement; from 25 to 35 years old tend to present a career as a means of self-development and self-realization, an indicator of success; from 35 to 45 years old positively evaluate a career, regard it as a source of income and self-development, as an indicator of success and a source of profitable acquaintances; from 45 years of age and older, the importance of a career decreases, the priority is the upcoming retirement and searching for oneself in other areas of activity. The study of the age dynamics of ideas about a career can become the basis for preventing the outflow of professional personnel from the Department of Internal Affairs, as well as contribute to the formation of optimal relationships in service teams.
