Preface

In the second issue of the " Vestnik of St. Petersburg State University. Psychology " contains articles describing empirical and experimental research in various fields of psychology.
The issue opens with the publication of E. E. Sapogova, known for her work in the field of existential psychology. The research presented in the article "The concept of "Life" in personal thesauruses of adults" was carried out within the framework of an existential-narrative approach using the author's methodology
"Semantic thesaurus of personality", which includes tasks for choosing verbal, general, symbolic associations with the concept of "Life", its comprehension, correlation of one's own model/strategy of life with archetypal, literary and other models. The article presents the results of the study and analysis of the personal thesaurus of the personality "Life", indicating the presence of significant differences in thesauri in different age groups of adults, from 30-year-old respondents to people over 65 years old. Along with the analysis of empirical data, the article includes a theoretical justification of the concept of the hierarchical structure of the personal thesaurus proposed by the author, as well as a description of the methodology used in the study, which in itself is of interest for psychological studies of personality.
